1 Gbps Internet Connection?
May 12th, 2009 by spacebaby

I had the pleasure of trying out 1 Gbps internet connection last weekend in Nijmegen, Netherlands. I was verywow when I was told the speed of the internet in that house :O

Then I had a tour of the basement where the magical fibre optic networking shrine was located. I was wow again.

Finally, when got to try it out, I couldn’t think about the best way to put this rocket speed internet to test. So, I decided to watch South Park streaming.

It was flawless….and perfect…like TV.

Maybe next time, I’ll try HD ;)

That is more than the speed of our data centre in Malaysia. Apa dah terjadi? Why not MSC launch it somewhere in their CyberJaya and attract more MSC Status companies to move there?

The 2009 Pakej Ransangan Ekonomi has allocated RM400m for high speed internet project in the country. I have yet to dig into the details as in where, when and how. The document can be found here http://www.treasury.gov.my/pdf/ekonomi/pakej_rangsangan_ekonomi.pdf
