The Story of Coconect’s Video
Videos are fun to watch and they’re an essential part of any good online business. Video production usually takes talents of different areas and an agency to coordinate the entire production. That requires a lot of time and a high budget, so we decided to take a different approach to make a simple video. We wanted a challenge of making a video with the least resources possible by utilizing our brains and available tools. The below entails the entire resource pool we used to make this video clip:
Production tools: Photoshop, iMovie, iPhone and Macbook.
Time: Two days for script writing and three days for production.
Talents: 3 = one director/scriptwriter/producer, one co-producer/post-producer and one editor/illustrator/art director (plus voice talent).
Venues: Story board & Script written in a living room in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Production and recording took place in a bedroom in Selangor, Malaysia. Co-Producer did post-production and editing on a balcony in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Oh yes, directing of the video done remotely via Skype.
This is the result:
What is missing is a super-dramatic soundtrack and/or sound effects. If you’d like to contribute to this video, feel free to contact us
The next video will probably be produced solely on iPhone(s). Do you think it’s possible to produce a complete animated video using only an iPhone? Do you have any innovative ideas on making a video? Do share.
